As you might have read in January, I'm keeping a One Sketch A Day visual journal and at the end of each month plan to share a few of my favourite doodles from it. It's been a real struggle to keep up with my daily doodles since February though as there has been just so much going on, and more recently, its just felt as though it's been one thing after the other. Wow, the last month just flew by for me, I can't quite believe it's come round to writing this post already! As you might have read last month, I'm keeping a One Sketch A Day visual journal and at the end of each month plan to share a few of my favourite doodles from it. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you'll have seen that for Christmas I was lucky enough to get a One Sketch A Day Journal. It's funny how quickly you integrate something like this into your life and I've found myself over the last month or so carrying it with me wherever I go - just incase I have a moment to doodle. I love how the space for each day is not that large and that each page is split into two days. For someone like me who finds a large blank page a bit intimidating it's the perfect size; large enough to do a quick sketch but not so large that you feel like you need to create a 'work of art'. I've been pleasantly surprised at how I've kept it up, with all the pressures of my course this year I was worried I wouldn't, but I've used it a bit like a visual diary; drawing things or hand-lettering quotes that relate to what I did that day or to how I was feeling, and I think that this has actually helped keep me grounded (and sane!) throughout. Here are a few of my doodles from January 2017 (how did that happen again?!), which although are far from perfect, were interesting for me to look back on and which, I hope, you will enjoy looking at too!
