Add a touch of romance to plain taper candles in just a few easy steps!
I had no idea you could paint candles until I saw a post by Craftberry Bush on instagram doing just that. I was so intrigued that I wanted to have a go myself, and I’m so pleased with the results! Hers are absolutely stunning, so do head over to the Craftberry Bush blog to see what inspired this post as well as to her other beautiful valentine’s day designs. As long as your paint isn’t toxic, it’s apparently ok to burn your painted candles, though I think I’ll probably not want to use them too much anyway - they’re far too pretty! You can be sure that there will be some more painted candle ideas on here in the future! Also, how stunning is this glass candle holder?! I saw them when I was with my girls in Copenhagen last year and then one of my wonderful friends sneakily got it for us for our wedding! Plain Taper Candle

1.
Grab some plain taper candles, you can choose any colour you want!
2.
Choose some acrylic paint in a colour that will contrast nicely with your candle.
3.
Using a fine paint brush, start on one side and begin painting small hearts down it. I painted them in a zig zag pattern down.
4.
Once dry, rotate the candle, and begin painting another zig zag of hearts down the candle.
5.
Continue all the way around until you’re happy with your coverage and then leave to dry.
